Roll of benefactors
Our benefactors in past years have included:
- Prof. Adam Sobiczewski, distinguished physicist, winner of the Foundation for Polish Science Prize. The money contributed by Prof. Sobiczewski is in the nature of an endowment fund. Thanks to the specially created Sobiczewski Fund, augmented stipends are awarded every year in the START programme to selected winners from the field of theoretical physics, mathematics and astronomy.
- Prof. Barbara Skarga, Polish philosopher. Thanks to funds contributed by Prof. Skarga, we can award the Prof. Barbara Skarga Stipend each year to START programme laureates whose research boldly crosses boundaries between different fields of science, opening up new research perspectives and generating new value in science. The winner receives an augmented stipend.
- Anonymous donors, including individuals deciding to earmark 1% of their personal income tax for the Foundation.
Below is the roll of benefactors who have supported our campaign this year. We extend to them our sincere thanks for the trust placed in us and their desire to support the most talented young scientists. Any contribution, however modest, is meaningful to us, and will be spent in its entirety on young stipend holders.
