The Foundation’s first-ever fundraising drive to benefit laureates of the START programme has concluded with total contributions of PLN 82,875. We are grateful to all the generous donors who joined the campaign under the motto “Support the most talented young scientists” and decided to help fund stipends in the START programme.
In the campaign, from June to mid-July in the series #JestemStartowcem we presented profiles of selected laureates of the START programme: stories of successes, film clips and interviews at https://start.fnp.org.pl/aktualnosci/ and on our Facebook profile. In social media we launched the campaign “START laureates, come forward” under the hashtag #JestemStartowcem, inviting all our laureates from previous years—nearly three thousand of them!—to join the campaign.

With the help of many donors, we have managed so far to raise a total of PLN 82,875. These funds will allow us to finance nearly three stipends in the next competition in the START programme, which will be announced this autumn.
Our Foundation has operated the START programme for 26 years. Each year stipends are awarded to about 100 researchers below age 30 from all fields of inquiry. This allows the Foundation to assist the most talented young people during the difficult beginnings of their research career. We earmark over PLN 3 million every year for stipends in the START programme.
We offer our warm thanks for the support shown for young scientists. We will continue to proudly present the unique and talented laureates of the START programme and their successes. On the site, it will still be possible to contribute to our stipend winners: here.
Thank you!
